Quick Tip: PeopleSoft Campus Solutions has a new search engine—Elasticsearch.

Elasticsearch, the search engine used at Google, Wikipedia and Uber comes to PeopleSoft Campus Solutions.

The Elasticsearch was released in PeopleTools 8.55 and will be the only search engine in 8.56 (SES will be deprecated). This search engine is slim, efficient and scalable, but still allows multiple pillar searches within Campus Solutions.

Elasticsearch was built for full-text large data searches. Institutions with millions of rows of data will find the search speed impressive. This has always been a contention with the older search engines (Verity and SES). Elasticsearch and Fluid pages will give students on tablets and phones a more pleasurable search experience.
